The Wall of Dubrovnik

Today, we started with the wall of Dubrovnik. After we finished breakfast, we arrived at the wall at 0840. We started our trek and were off to a good start. Mom kept going to the shade. It wasn't excruciatingly hot, but as we continued on my back started dripping. By the end of the wall, the back of my sundress was soaked! Gross. It took us an hour and a half to walk around, but we stopped to take video and pictures every few minutes. My left thigh seized up going down a flight of stairs and I had to punch it a few times. Weird.

I can't even really describe the wall. It was so nice to be walking around the city. The views were spectacular! It was cool to see the kids in school, the laundry hanging and the various fruit growing on trees.

After we walked the wall, we wandered through town a little. So many cute shops. Saw the Onofrio fountain. Lunch was cevapcici. It was so good! The heat was starting to get to me, but then my tummy settled once I'd eaten.

After lunch we went to the oldest pharmacy in Europe and walked through the monastery there. I can't remember exactly how old the pharmacy is. I've written it down somewhere, but Anne told me to write that it was Hella Old! Haha!

We had to get in more swimming so headed back to the hotel to hit the Adriatic! Anne dove in very nicely, it was a little too high off the water for me. Yes, I chickened out! I did jump in, but couldn't tell how far I'd gone down. It was a weird feeling. I saw a beautiful blue fish swim by. It was one of the biggest ones I'd seen.

Following our swim and my quick nap in the sun on my lounge chair, we thought we'd head to Montenegro to check out the James Bond scene. When we double-checked how far it was with the desk, they told us we could have an hour wait to cross the border in to Montenegro...so we didn't go. But we did find a cute little town called Cavtat, 24km south of Dubrovnik. There were some sweet yachts there. There was a little boy fishing along the walkway. He was so cute, using a little piece of bread for bait and then throwing his fishing line in. Then we saw a lady fishing for her cat, who was so anxiously waiting for that little fish.

That night we went to Steak House Domino. The food was also amazing! 3/4 of us ordered our filets medium and they came out almost rare! So...Anne enjoyed her steak the most.

Walked a bit through town again and then headed up the hill to our hotel. It was still pretty hot and humid.

Laku noc!
