Travelling from Split to Brac

They did not have croissant with marmalade at the hotel for Mom. She did find a chocolate one though.

Sitting on the ferry, heading to the island Brac. I haven't really talked about this too much, or at all, but the smoking over here is unbelievable! Everyone smokes, even really young kids! It's hard to see (and smell) when we're so different at home now.

Today is a beach day. The ferry ride is relaxing, ready to fall asleep though. Need another coffee. My coffee this morning was not even half a cup. (I didn't pour it!)

Wow! The amount of seagulls following our boat is ridiculous! They just keep flying in circles up next to the boat, go to the back and land...then start their flight again hoping to find food from someone.

We arrived in Bol to find out our hotel was overbooked. They said we could stay in a suite together OR 2 at their hotel and 2 at another. We opted for the suite together at the same hotel. Uh oh!!! ;)

We drove to town just to take a look at it and then drove back to the hotel to change into our swimming suits. Drove to Mali Raj to park for the day and eat a good lunch. Enjoying our mixed salads when we can. I did say I would not get sick of burek, but it's a bit much everyday.

Can't wait to get down to the beach!

...The beach was soooo beautiful! I have never seen rocks like that! So small and smooth. We were all just laying on the rocks by the shore, looking at all the different shapes. Picked a few to bring home for my bathroom collection. Brought some shells back from Australia a few years ago.

They had all these vendors at the beach. There was a fruit stand that looked amazing, but right next to it was a palacinka one. Had to get that one again with rosehip jam this time. Mmmmm so good!

I had to walk to the point of this beach. You see it in all the pictures/postcards. It's so interesting the way the trees come down to a point and then the rest of the beach comes out a bit further, point-shaped as well. The point changes shape depending on the waves & wind and the direction it's blowing.

This place is kind of an all-inclusive, Croatian style, so dinner and breakfast were included in our stay. Judging by the room we were staying in I thought it wouldn't be anything special at all. However, we were pleasantly surprised by the dining area. The food was pretty good and a lot of variety. There are so many things I've eaten over here that remind me of Stella's cooking at home. Love it!

After dinner we were going to walk back in to town of Bol, but opted to take the car. Lots of walking already and Mom's feet were getting sore. My feet were so hot just walking around town that I was very thankful to have had the car that night. We were exhausted! Got back to the hotel and Anne was watching "The Proposal". I laid down to join her and was out. I know, big surprise, me watching a movie with my eyes closed. Anne even said I was snoring!

Laku noc!

  1. I am loving the blog and pics especially the pic of you and Andrea looking at stones, it is very sweet and reminds me of when we were all kids :) I have to ask why is Andrea missing all the nightly activities, too tired, sick or wants some alone time? Hope she is well.
